ABOUT SEHORANA IN INTEGRAL MISSION (SIM)

The personally lived experience in my childhood life of misery and poverty pushed me initiate an international network under the name ofSehorana in Integral Mission (SIM)” which seeks to motivate and equip a global community of Christians to embrace and practice integral mission. The network aims to give hope to different group of people who have experienced failures and hardship in their life. These are for instance people who do not have a living hope due to different circumstances related to psychological trauma, wounds caused by war, genocide, social rejection, endemic poverty, etc.

Integral mission is the proclamation and demonstration of the gospel. It is not simply that evangelism- it is also a social involvement. In integral mission, our gospel proclamation has social consequences as we call people to love and help each other in all areas of life.

If we ignore the world we betray the word of God, which sends us out to serve the world. If we ignore the word of God we have nothing to bring to the world. Justice and justification by faith, worship and political action, the spiritual and the material, personal change and structural change belong together. As in the life of Jesus, being, doing and saying are at the heart of our integral task.

The main activities of SIM include advocacy, training and mobilization for the promotion of law and human rights, social and family conflict resolution, fight against poverty, etc. SIM is a global community of Christians drawn together because of their passion and commitment for integral mission.

What distinctive contribution can SIM make in the manifestation of the Kingdom of God here and now? As a global network we can facilitate the bringing together of individuals committed to integral mission so that fellowship, shared learning, partnership, cooperation, social transformation and radical discipleship can flourish. Thus, SIM is a platform where all Christians are effectively involved in world mission as equal members of the body of Christ.
