This Tuesday March 16, 2021, the Anglican Church of Rwanda officially opened its university (East African Christian College) in Kigali. This university opens with 200 students out of 250 who are to be enrolled in the Faculty of Theology. The university was accredited by the Council of Ministers which took place on December 14, 2020. It comes to put an end to the issue of religious leaders who don’t have a degree in Theology, whereas this is required by the Government of Rwanda. Apart from the Faculty of Theology, the university also intends to open other faculties such as Education, Communication, Business, Public Health, etc.
The construction of the university is part of several development activities that the Anglican Church of Rwanda has just carried out in recent years under the leadership of the Archbishop, His Grace Laurent Mbanda. I congratulate him on this milestone, and congratulate the entire Anglicans, and pray that God will continue to bless us and to bless our country.
