In the Anglican Church,an Archdeacon is responsible for the administration of an Archdeaconry which is a part of a Diocesan Area and comprises a number of Parishes.

Since June 2014, the Diocese of Shyogwe decided to reduce the number of seven archdeaconries to four. This has been done to strengthen the capacity of the archdeaconries. We believe that instead of having more archdeaconries that do not work as it should, it is better to have fewer but working well.

The archdeaconries that make up our Diocese are now: Shyogwe (leaded by Rev. Methode RUKUNDO; Ndiza (by Arch Joseph IYAKAREMYE) Hanika (by Rev. Joseph SEHORANA) and Nyarugenge (by Arch Edward NYITURIKI).Congratulations to the new Archdeacons!
