ARCHDEACON JOSEPH SEHORANA MADE A HANDOVER WITH NEW ARCHDEACONS OF HANIKA AND NYAMAGANA

); following the letter of the Bishop of EAR Shyogwe Diocese appointing Arch. Joseph as the Archdeacon of Shyogwe Archdeaconry and Pastor of Shyogwe Parish.

The handover took place at the headquarters of Hanika Archdeaconry located in Nyanza District, Busasamana Sector. There were different pastors and members of the Archdeaconry committees. In his speech, Archdeacon Joseph thanked God for his support and protection during the three and a half years he had been leading Hanika. He also thanked the Bishop of EAR Shyogwe Diocese and diocesan staff; members of various Archdeaconry committees; Directors of schools, projects and health centers; and all Christians of Hanika Archdeaconry for their support and close collaboration.

Hanika Archdeaconry is one of the five archdeaconries that make up EAR, Shyogwe Diocese. So far, this coordination body is made of eleven (11) Parishes: Hanika, Nyamagana, Nyagisozi, Butansinda, Rubona, Tambwe, Kabuga, Kirombozi, Sholi, Gahombo, and Gasoro which was created in 2022. The total number of church members is 7,311 according to the statistics dated November 2022. Hanika Archdeaconry was created in 2015 after putting together Nyamagana and Hanika Archdeaconries.
