SENIOR LEADERS OF HANIKA ARCHDEACONRY’S MOTHERS UNION MEET IN A ONE-DAY RETREAT

Today March 31, senior leaders of the Mothers Union of Hanika Archdeaconry met in a one-day retreat. The retreat took place at Butansinda Parish and brought together Pastors' wives and Mothers Union presidents at the Parish level.

4 2A total of twenty-two women took part in this gathering. The retreat was enhanced by the presence of the Archdeacon of Hanika, the Country Director of Embrace Rwanda International, and the Diocesan Mothers Union Worker. The central theme of the retreat is found in Jeremiah 9:17-19: “This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'Consider now! Call for the wailing women to come; send for the most skillful of them. Let them come quickly and wail over us till our eyes overflow with tears and water streams from our eyelids. The sound of wailing is heard from Zion: ‘How ruined we are! How great is our shame! We must leave our land because our houses are in ruins.’”

From there, the participants were urged to cry for the service of God and to participate actively in the Church mission. The participants also pledged to play an important role in the propagation of the annual theme of our Diocese which is: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19) The participants also decided to form a Prayer, Savings and Credit group called “ABINGINZI” (those who pray constantly). They have also resolved that they will meet once a month.
