MUKINGO CHAPEL OPENS ITS DOORS AFTER TWO YEARS OF CLOSURE

Mukingo Chapel is one of the chapels of Butansinda Parish, EAR Shyogwe. It is located in Mukingo Sector, Nyanza District, Southern Province. After two years of closure, the chapel reopened its doors today April 24, 2022 after having fulfilled all the Government's conditions relating to the prevention of the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.

The re-opening Service was enhanced by the presence of the Pastor of Butansinda Parish, Archdeacony Joseph SEHORANA and the Ababibyi Choir (from Butansinda Chapel). Many Christians from Mukingo also came to thank God who made the reopening of their chapel possible. During his preaching, Archdeacony Joseph urged the Christians of Mukingo to put into practice the annual theme of  Shyogwe Diocese found in Matthew 28:19-20: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Mukingo Chapel currently has more than 150 Christians. The chapel will also temporarily gather the Christians of Murehe and Karama Chapels which have not yet fulfilled the conditions required for their reopening. We thank the Christians of Mukingo who have given themselves body and soul to have their chapel open again. Above all, we thank God who has always been with us in all that we have been able to do.

Arch. Joseph SEHORANA
