Today, February 05, 2023, the congregants from Hanika Archdeaconry bid farewell to Archdeacon SEHORANA Joseph who recently was called to serve Shyogwe Archdeaconry and Shyogwe Parish (in Muhanga District).
Arch. Joseph had been serving in Hanika Archdeaconry and Butansinda Parish for three and a half years. The farewell ceremony was held at the Hanika Archdeaconry Headquarters located in Hanika Parish (Nyanza-Busasamana), and was attended by various Christians and Pastors.
The ceremony coincided with the blessing of new Archdeacons: NTAKIRUTIMANA Venant (new Archdeacon of Gitarama); HATAGEKIMANA Joseph (new Archdeacon of Nyamagana); and SIKUBWABO Jerome (new Archdeacon of Hanika).
All these activities were led by The Rt. Rev. Dr Jered Kalimba, Bishop of Shyogwe Diocese. In his Sermon, Bishop Jered reminded the congregants that every Christian was called by God. Based on Jeremiah 1:4-10; 1 Corinthians 6:18-20; John 10:9-16 and 2 Corinthians 5:17, Bishop Jered said that everyone who is called by God must move from one place to another, and leave something behind. In a particular way, Bishop Jered exhorted Archdeacons, Pastors and others who are called to the holy service of God to devote themselves; keeping in mind that God will never forget them, and that at the end of time, they will be given eternal life.
